The award “At Home” in the nomination “Design and craft”

JSC Gzhel Porcelain Factory received an award for a collaboration created with fashion designer Sergey Sysoev. The collaboration has been successfully implemented since 2018, when the Gzhel Porcelain Factory for the first time presented dishes in a minimalistic design inspired by an appeal to the origins of culture. Sergey Sysoev proposed three types of decor for the collaboration, which the factory’s artists manually apply to tea pairs, vases, plates, kettles and other products. All paintings are made with cobalt, which is traditional for Gzhel. Gold is added to the piece. The Zigzag painting is an ancient symbol of rain and fertility, the “Ears” symbolize abundance, and the enlarged rose brings us back to the times when the painting on the dishes was applied by the finger method. The collaboration of the Gzhel Porcelain Factory and Sergey Sysoev has become one of the most recognizable and mentioned among such projects of folk art crafts. It has also been a hit of sales for many years in the company store of the Gzhel Porcelain Factory and on the official website. The award ceremony “On_rodnom” was held on August 15, 2024 in Nizhny Novgorod.
